• Parvovirus and canine distemper virus
Tests on approximately 250 dogs infected with parvovirus showed that a single dose of P-M.A.P.A (20 mg/10-15 kg body weight/i.m.) for 3 days resulted in a recovery rate of more than 95%. These dogs were treated during the 1980 parvovirus epidemics in São Paulo, Brazil. Similar results with dogs exhibiting distemper virus were obtained only in the first stage of the disease (before reaching the central neurological system). These results are indicative that P-M.A.P.A.. acts in vivo in parvovirus and in distemper virus in dogs .
• Newcastle disease in chickens
Tests performed by veterinarians on 40 chickens with Newcastle disease have shown that a single dose dose of 5 mg/animal/day/i.m. of P-MAPA for 4 days resulted in a recovery rate of 100%.
In contrast, all positive controls treated with antibiotics and support therapies died 2-3 days after clinical signs and symptoms had set in.
